Backhoe control valve setup

I am in the process of rebuilding a Ford 757A 3pt backhoe. I have rebuilt/replaced the booms, bucket and cylinders. My question is how to arrange the joy stick handles to operate the booms and bucket in the most efficient manner. I have never operated a backhoe so was wondering which combination of boom and bucket movement will leave a trench level. I realize experience will help in the long run. Any advice on this would be appreciated.

I'm no expert, but as far as I know, the movement is back with the dipper and up with the boom. If it's a long stroke, the curl can be changed to keep the best digging angle.
My controls are separate except for the swings, and not sure the process could be automated any further. At least, with my hydraulics, I don't necessarily get simultaneous movements no matter how many levers I pull. I believe there is a priority selector that selects which movement gets flow, and that generally is what is easiest for the machine. ....

You do not say whether your controls are 2 or 4 valves...Presumably it is 4 valves, in which case (working left to right from operators position) the first valve is bucket, next is dipper, next is boom, and last is swing. Except for the swing valve, all valves move the same direction as the function, ie dump bucket would be push, scoop would be pull and so on, the swing is pull to move to the left, push to go to the right. If it is two stick, left one is bucket left/right, and dipper is push/pull, right one is boom push/pull, swing is left/right. Best of luck. ....
